JULIET IVY GIRL TALK
Juliet Ivy has returned with another masterclass in modern pop in the form of ‘girl talk’. The New York-based artist’s sound is rooted in clever lyricism and an effortless gift for melody. This track in particular is gentle and tender, with distant, slow acoustic guitar strums blending into the subtly cinematic string synths that swirl at the back of the texture. Her voice is airy and emotive, with an introspective delivery that matches her personal lyrics. Juliet Ivy’s new EP, tiny but scary, is out now via AWAL. “Girlhood is really present in this project—all the ever-changing, complicated, intertwined emotions of being a young girl,” she explains. Be sure to check it out. -Dan Peeke
